There are many stories about how mankind discovered coffee.
Some say Ethiopian goat herders discovered the properties of the plant after witnessing their goats getting “jazzed up” after eating the the sweet cherries of the wild coffee plant. Others say it was monks and their fascination with transmutation by fire who first discovered that the beans of the coffee plant could be transformed into a delectable and effervescent drink.
However it happened.
Goats, Monks...
I am sure glad that it did
Can you imagine a world without coffee? What a dystopian universe that would be. Everyone sitting around drinking tea. I tender to shudder involuntarily at the thought.
Hello, My name is Matt and I am nuts about coffee.
Close to certifiable.
This is my latest site dedicated to reaching true nirvana through the coffee bean.
This is Coffeelocity.

Come join me in my spiritual quest.
Like wine, coffee is a curious mix of taste and altered state. Caffeine is probably most potent mind altering legal drug on the market today. They have done studies on spiders, and the ones hyped up on the ol' jitter juice made the craziest looking webs topping even LCD.
And the taste...
Ahh, the taste. While even a cup of crappy gas station coffee will get the ol' synaptic nerves firing in the morning. A great tasting cup of coffee is what many of us look forward to. It takes five years for a coffee plant to produce its first beans. time enough to draw upon the soil and to take up tastes of the land.
Coffee beans have flavor profiles more complex than wine ( At least that is what I think). A cup of freshly roasted coffee will have a unique taste profile indicative of where it came from. To the chagrin of all the wanna be sommeliers out there, professional cuppers have the tendency to give the high grade coffee they taste adjectives such "honeysuckle, jasmine, lemon tree" and write down things like "settles into a dark chocolate profile at vienna".
Even people who do not drink coffee admit that it smells great. Who has woken to the pleasant smell of fresh brewed coffee? Such an Rockwell American sentiment, and for good reason.
